Middle Eastern Dance Classes

The Cassandra School is dedicated to serving the needs of its students and the art of Middle Eastern dance. Year-round classes are offered at three locations in 10-week sessions. The school offers five different levels from beginner to professional. Because of the cumulative nature of the classes, first-time beginner students may only enroll during the first 3 weeks of a new session. All continuing students are welcome on a drop-in basis. On-going and transfer students are expected to master the material of the current level and are encouraged to consult with the teacher for assistance in proper placement and/or advancement.

Technique Intensive
Technique Intensive focuses on mastering technique - making it your own, incorporating it into body memory and vocabulary until you can command it effortlessly to express yourself through music and dance. We will drill basic techniques and their variations and ornamentations, as well as intermediate and advanced techniques.
$16 single class.

Middle Eastern Dance for Mother and Daughter (age 5 and up)

As in the Middle East, girls and women dance together with joyful feminine movements, full of grace and energy. We learn the elements and fundamentals of this beautiful dance and share it with our daughters.
Single class: $18/mother and one child; $6 for each additional child
10 classes: $150/mother and one child; $50 for each additional child

Class Showings

We're going to add a new feature to the school starting at the end of the Summer Session. We will have evenings of class "showings" – not a formal performance but a chance to show what you've been learning and polishing in class. Showings are for all levels, free, and open to the public. It is a chance for you to invite friends and family to see you dance and to see your teachers perform.

Cassandra's College

Kathy McCurdy, one of The Cassandra School’s most popular teachers, will teach you a complete choreography, even if you’re just in Level 1.
